Surron Light Bee: Full Performance Restoration & Service

We recently had this Surron Light Bee in the workshop for a comprehensive overhaul. While these bikes are legendary for their durability, the high torque and off-road nature of the Light Bee mean that pivot points and drivetrain components eventually require professional attention to maintain that “new bike” feel.

The Work Performed:

1. Drivetrain & Power Delivery To ensure maximum efficiency and zero power loss, we completely refreshed the drive system.

• New Jack Shaft & Belt: Replaced the internal jack shaft and primary belt to eliminate vibration and ensure a whisper-quiet, reliable drive.

• D.I.D Chain Upgrade: Swapped the stock chain for a premium D.I.D chain, known for superior tensile strength and longevity under the instant torque of electric motors.

2. Precision Handling & Suspension A bike is only as good as its front end. We focused on removing “slop” and restoring plushness.

• Head Stock Bearings: Replaced worn bearings to restore effortless, notched-free steering.

• Full Fork Service: The front forks were completely stripped, serviced, and fitted with high-quality new seals. This restores the damping consistency needed for technical trails.

• Wheel Bearings: New front wheel bearings were pressed in to ensure zero lateral play and reduced rolling resistance.

3. Braking & Safety

• Genuine Pads (Front & Rear): We opted for genuine Surron pads to maintain the specific heat dissipation and bite characteristics the OEM braking system was designed for.
